BRAINIAC

BRAINIAC is a single-player top-down shooter game. The story follows Johanna (JJ), a young woman suffering from bipolar disorder (cyberpsychosis). After her partner tampers with her medication, JJ falls into a coma, and upon awakening, finds herself trapped in a futuristic world. In this unfamiliar place, JJ discovers that she has gained the ability to alternate between three different mental states, though she cannot do so at will: depressive mode, normal mode, and manic mode. These states not only affect her emotional state but also her gameplay and abilities.

This is a prototype demo developed by students of Digital creation, Animation and Videogames degree in the University of A Coruña, Spain.
